Reunion Details

Here is the original email in its entirety from Kramer with all the sexy available details:

Hello Tau Brothers, I hope this note finds you well.

As many of you know, our chapter has faced some difficult challenges over the past several years including probation and a re-organization by the Grand Chapter. These sanctions are often a precursor to the worst of all fates: suspension from campus and the loss of the Fraternity house. Fortunately, with the determination and resolve of a select group of active members and our Realty Board (led by Chairman Mike Davidson), we were able to weather this storm and will enter Fall 2008 with a full house and over 90 active brothers. A testament to the renewed strength and stability of Tau Chapter was the recent election of Brother (and former Tau Chapter President) Kevin Reilly to the office of Student Body President.

Concurrent with (but not directly related to) our strife in Gainesville, the Grand Chapter mandated Alcohol Free Housing for all its chapters. This policy, while perhaps well-intended, has had a detrimental effect particularly on larger chapters. This prohibition has put Tau at a competitive disadvantage for recruitment and severely hindered alumni relations, as the chapter house has been a virtual ghost town on gamedays when many alumni return to campus. In spite of these obstacles (as described above), Theta Chi is once again an elite Fraternity at the University of Florida.

I am pleased to report that the Grand Chapter has granted Tau a waiver to the provisions of the Alcohol Free Housing policy, which includes the allowance of alcohol in the chapter house on gamedays. In an effort to reunite alumni brothers and share in the celebration of Tau’s many successes, we will be having an Alumni Reunion on November 15, 2008 (a home game vs. South Carolina and the Ole Ball Coach.) This reunion will be unlike past alumni events in terms of both size and scope. Please reserve this date on your calendars now and start to make arrangements to attend.

More details regarding this event, including hotel accommodations and travel arrangements will be distributed in the coming months. Should you have any questions, please e-mail me at gkramer@glatting.com. I look forward to seeing everyone in November.

Fraternally,

George Kramer
